Janet L. Summerville

Birth date: August 19, 1955
Death date: July 5, 2012

Janet Louise Summerville, age 56, passed away peacefully at 2:23am on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at home in Kent, Washington with family by her side for her last moments. Her last wish had been to come back to the Seattle area, and for her family to all come together; many who hadn’t seen each other for years.
Janet was born on August 19, 1955 in Longview, Washington to the late Charles and Hazel Ross. She is survived by her husband, William Charles Summerville; her daughter, Jennifer; her three sons, Jason, Billy & Michael; one grandson, Brandon; her sister, Sheri Lissy of Florida; her brother, Donald Ross of Washington; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
Janet is a former resident of Tonawanda, NY, where she was an employee of Wal-mart, Inc. for 16 years; most of her years she was at the Amherst, NY store location, where she had many friends who will miss her dearly. She was loved by everyone who knew her, and everyone she met; no one could resist her beautiful smile, or enchanting personality. She helped so many others, even when she had nothing but herself to give; and a lot of time she was really too soft hearted for her own good. She always saw the “good” in everyone, even when others had given up on that person.
Janet saw beauty in everything, everywhere she went, and she absolutely loved nature and the outdoors. Her favorite spot was Mt. Rainier, and she went there every chance she had, with her family and friends. She also loved going on the ferry boats in Seattle, and used to just ride them over and over when she was younger.
Janet was an avid gardener, and could grow anything. Everyone used to bring plants to her that had almost died, and she always brought them back to life, bigger and better than they were. She was able to start plants with just a little sliver, it didn’t matter what kind, and everything thrived under her loving hands. Her daughter, Jennifer, also loves plants and the outdoors, and she inherited this same gift from her mother.
Janet loved animals of every kind and size. She could never walk away from an abandoned or suffering animal, and she usually brought them all home; both as a child, and as an adult. She had a wide variety of pets over the years, including birds, frogs and toads, and tons of cats & dogs, including the dog she left behind, “Lil Girl”.
Janet knew what was really important in life, and she overflowed with amazing love. She had such great faith, and knew that God had a plan for her life, though she didn’t know what it was. I think God put her on earth so she could share her love, which made better people of everyone she ever met, and changed a lot of lives! Janet is someone no one will ever forget, and she will always be remembered with love.
Her passing was handled by Yahn and Son Funeral Home and Crematory. There was a Memorial Service for family only, which was held on Sunday, July 8, 2012.
