June Jennet DeLorme Acteson, 91, went to her Lord on June 13, 2012. June was born on June 5, 1921 in Williston, North Dakota, to Eli Joseph DeLorme and Mary Leila Sheppard. Her parents came to North Dakota to take advantage of the Homestead Act, which occurred during the early 1900’s. Eli came from New York, born of French Canadian parents and Mary was 15 when her family brought her from North Carolina, she was born from ancestors that fought in the Revolution War and Civil War.
June attended schools in Williston until her 9th grade when her parents left for Washington State, where her father could find work, during the 1930 depression. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1939. She was united in marriage on October 20, 1940 to John Joseph Acteson, Sr. Their union brought four children, Karen, Joe, David and Jannet.
June later worked for Ben Franklin, in Auburn until she retired. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and other craft work. She loved to play cards and travel. She would join her daughter in Arizona the past 12 years for the winter months, during which time she went on many cruises. June was known for her love of people, and how easy she made friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, John Joseph, Jr., (Joe). She is survived by her daughter, Karen Schlichte, (Dick), a son, David Acteson, (Josie), and daughter Jannet Kennedy, (Mike). Grandchildren, Rick Sharpe, (Michelle), Jim Sharpe, (Paula), and Jeff Sharpe, Jonathan Acteson, Jeremy Acteson, (Jnean), David Acteson, Jr. (Laura), Michael Acteson, and step children, Jennifer Pineda, (Jesais) and Steven Rodriquez, Glen Falconer, Debra Downs, (Terry), and her “other daughter”, Debbie Houk, (Bruce), and great grandchildren, Kari Sharpe, R. Dalton Sharpe, James Sharpe, Joseph Sharpe, Sr., Robert Quintana, Michelle Pineda, Alyssa Pineda, Kaleb Propst, Kassey Acteson, Spencer Downs, Gillian Downs, and Great Great Grandchildren, Joseph Sharpe, Jr. and Aubrey Sharpe. She had many nieces and nephew and their families. She will be missed by many.
A memorial will be held on Wednesday, June 20th, at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church, 29645 51st Ave So, Auburn. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Yahn & Son funeral home, www.yahnandson.,com, where you will find her obituary and picture. Interment will be in the Auburn Cemetery.
