I lost my mom on Sept 25th... she was only 68 going to be 69 on the 28th. She was so healthy, energetic and full of life. She passed due to a sudden brain hemorrhage on Saturday night and passed the following Monday. My dad and I were not only trying to wrap our heads around losing her but overwhelm with the process and cost of a funeral and burial. We were referred to another funeral home in west seattle and after that meeting I was devastated! They were telling me it was going to cost 25,000 for a funeral and burial for my mother. We could not afford that... I started calling around and I last on my list of places to call was Yahn and Son. I remember being in tears, Ken answered the phone. I told him of my experience with the other funeral home and he immediately said.."Let me take you out of your nightmare." He scheduled me and my father to meet up with Heather at Yahn and son that afternoon. Heather was just amazing and she put together this beautiful service , reception and slide show, and when we found out the price compared to the other funeral home both my father and I were so relieved that we were able to give my mom a beautiful memorial service and burial. Heather went above and beyond.. have so much patience and understanding. The slide show she created was beautiful and they did a wonderful job representing my mom during the viewings. I can not thank them enough for everything they did!

As we read some of the other comments we both agreed 100 percent. We would like to also add how really caring they were in our difficult time. Those times when your thoughts are flicking around like butterflies and nothing seems to make sense. I am sure you all know. From past experience I called Yahn and Rob brought calmness and a we can attitude in a difficult circumstance we had. I am sure they think of it as just doing their job to the best of their ability and try to be the place with a heart, which they are, but it is more then that. It was an answer to our prayers. Rob is "Different Class"Professional yet Personal. He did all the work and allowed us to grieve. I used Yahn and Sons for my mother arrangements 10 yrs ago and had no ability to make decisions. If there can be some good that comes out of the sorrow and grief of death, it’s the knowledge that there are people who have the gift of compassion, caring and professionalism during a difficult time of need. During my pre planning meeting with Scott Ruff, he was patient and listened to my needs and answered all of my questions. I was grateful that he shared the option of the Military Honors Funeral at the Tahoma National Cemetery for Veterans; an option we were not aware of. When the time came, it was Rob Perry who came quickly and handled all the arrangements in the most professional and respectful way. The military service at Tahoma was an incredible experience. The dedication of our veterans who honor their fallen comrades do a service that cannot be described with words, only felt. I haven't yet been able to find the right words to give it justice: honorable, dignified, etc. How proud it made my mom feel to have her patriot husband, be honored in such a beautiful way. We are so grateful to Rob Perry for his professionalism, his thoroughness, his experience, but most of all, for his compassion and caring during a difficult time.
